I have been trying my best to understand Grade 11 Math Methods Stage 1 again after my 6-7 week break from School (Southern Hemisphere here) and the first few lessons have been rocky for me. I love maths a lot but it has been a bit to get used to, but now I am able to understand most of this videos topic so i wont be sitting there in class not knowing what to do. This has helped me a lot to discover other techniques of how people do their equations differently, but i can understand the math and all my answers were correct when being able to actually know how the math is mathing. My math teacher is helpful but she moves on too quickly and having the steps explained at a steady pace has made me realise that we all learn differently from one another. Thank you so much for the help!!!

shouldn't it be p(0,5) instead of p(0,-5)? also at 24:00 how does (x-2) and (x-x1) having the negative sign impact the 2 in a way that makes it positive, why does this happen, doesn't the negative sign instantly make the x1 negative even if its a positive?

    • @mariyamjuaria2549

Sorry you did marvelously well but I got a little bit confused at some point where we had to go backwards and also the last slope that was plotted. From what I learnt so far the slope is 2/1 and y is 2 while x is 1 so I was thinking the 2 should be at the upper side of the y axis which is the positive side while 1 should be at the positive x axis.

Another way to know if the slop is negative or positive is that - make a horizontal line on slope and check the angle it made with slope in anticlockwise direction. If it is acute angle then slope is positive, if it is a obtuse angle then the slope is negative.
