Today, almost everything that's artificially flavored or processed has a chance to allot you cancer. Almost all plastics and rubber we come into contact with is made up of some material that, if ingested or touches open wounds, has a chance to allot you more cancer.

An example: http://www.komonews.com/news/local/Soccer-coach-Could-field-turf-be-causing-cancer-259895701.html

It's a scary world we live in. Personally, I try to limit the amount of foods with superfluous amounts of artificial ingredients I eat. Particularly, food coloring such as Yellow 6, Red 4, etc. Even foods that barely have any tint of color seem to have these artificial colors.

What about you guys? Do you live your life cautiously, or in the moment when it comes to things that have a chance a giving you cancer? Is this habit something you'd want to pass on to your kids eventually? Discuss.

I'm going to die eventually and it will probably be cancer or a heart attack that kills me. Family all has high blood pressure and both my grand parents on my mother's side have cancer. That said no I'm not really scared if I was I would probably just kill myself out of worrying.

I try my best to not purposely get cancer, but if it's going to happen because of genetics, then I'm fucked whether I'm afraid or not.

No, the only cancers that run in the family are those that strike only females.

About a year ago, I noticed there was a lump on my throat about the size of a pea right next to my lymph nodes.

I went to the doctors about it and they said it was nothing to worry about. Just a cyst or something. They said I could remove it surgically if I wanted to for cosmetic reasons, but health-wise it wasn't necessary. You can't even notice it unless you're feeling my throat pretty thoroughly, so I didn't do any surgery or anything.

I found myself deep down secretly hoping that it was cancer or something. Just an excuse to let me die.

I think that's what made me realize that I'm half-assed suicidal (half-assed because I think about it quite a bit, but I'd never actually go through with it).

I'm 99% sure that I'm going to have cancer sometime in my life, it's just a bade case of genetics. More than likely it'll just be skin cancer but there is also a good chance that it could be a lot worse. So while I am a little unnerved by the thought the that I will probably have cancer, it is something that I have accepted and learned to live with a long time ago.

I'd still try hold off on stuff that can give you cancer, or at least hope you don't get it until you're already old.

Everybody is afraid of getting cancer now, especially where the media never shuts up about it.

What we know about things in this generation makes us more paranoid than we should be.

Ive heard some things that say sunscreen also can cause cancer because of some of the ingredients in it. Im not so sure on it since i didnt look into it a lot.

No, because I'm still at the age where it's statistically very unlikely to have it right now, so I'm not worried for now, especially because I don't feel that anything in my body would be out of the ordinary.

I do eat some "healthy" stuff like fruits and vegetables for the taste and because I don't dislike what's been offered to me as food so far.

This post gave me cancer...nah I'm jk...but no one said it yet so I had to.

I don't smoke, but that's about as far as my cancer prevention goes. To be honest I probably wouldn't know I had cancer until it started to hurt...and I mean really hurt. Last time I went to a doctor was like 5 years ago.

No, cancer is one of the very least of my worries. I don't do anything that will give me cancer anyway, I eat healthy and don't do drugs, etc. Even if I get cancer, it's not a bad way to die, I'll just have them pull the plug ASAP
