@@thegabrielcho Check out Scott Walker's Bish Bosch, anything by Keiji Haino, John Cage, Conlon Nancarrow, to name a few. For something more "accessible" I think Animal Collective is a good example of being borderline avant-garde
in terms of jazz, look at marc ducret.

these kids are amazing. im so glad to be a jazz fusion aficionado. just discovered them last week & cant stop listening. the range at 20 is genius level. im a fanboy now. and the nord keyboard is also stupefyingly great sounding.
it's amazing how locked in they are - when domi starts swinging around 2:18 JD beck catches it almost immediately, then it sounds like a fight to bring it back to straight time until they lock in and do both simultaneously ..
I had to check 2 times to make sure I wasn't on 1.25x speed. Jeeeez! These kids can play.
Domi makes me feel like I'm such trash at my instrument....and I love her for it. 🥴

I can't describe all the ways i love this song! It just sets my mood right. From where it takes off at :22, the change up at the 1:05 mark, and the brief pause at the 3:08 mark is everything. Perfect.
