An insult to the original
Everyone has their own taste, and that’s totally fine! 😊 My intention is never to insult the original artists-quite the opposite! I only choose songs that I find lyrically outstanding and worth reinterpreting in a new way. I know not every version will be for everyone, but I still appreciate you taking the time to listen!
@ you used AI and stripped it of everything that made it great, gutted it of soul. The harpsichord, the wailing, the actual emotion of what it means to be an Opheliac in the context of Emilie’s work.
I totally understand that this version won’t be for everyone. 😊 The original is intense, theatrical, and deeply emotional, and I have nothing but respect for Emilie’s work. But for me, a cover that simply tries to replicate the original isn’t really worth making-after all, you could just listen to the original instead. It will always be just a copy. That’s why I approach covers as reinterpretations, giving them a different atmosphere and feel rather than trying to recreate what’s already been done perfectly. I know this won’t work for everyone, but I appreciate you sharing your thoughts!
